Volunteer training
We provide at no charge, all training, support and insurance so that you can be confident in your volunteering role.
St John Ambulance is a recognised Training Organisation (RTO: 88041) and the Mid North Coast Division issues nationally recognised qualifications and statements of attainment to its volunteers. We have over 130 years of experience in Australia as the leading provider of first aid training.

We generally meet once a week to undergo training, share our experiences and discuss past and future duties.
Becoming a volunteer in St John is a rewarding way to meet new people, help the community, build confidence, gain experience and save lives through First Aid.
When you join as a volunteer, you are typically joining the section which focuses on delivering first aid and health services at public events. This area is called 'Event Health Services'.

Health Care Professionals
Health Care Professionals (HCPs) such as nurses, paramedics and doctors are most welcome to join.
Some HCPs are keen to use their expert qualifications as a way to give back to the community.
Students studying the health professions may join St John Ambulance to practice their skills and gain valuable experience in the field.
