First Responder

Resources have been created to help you get your HLT21020 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response qualification.(First Responder).This will require members to do some work at home and some practical activities with the trainer. Please ask your Officer In Charge (OIC) about the next course date.
During this stage you may participate in public events and provide first aid and health services. However, you will be restricted in what you can do when treating patients until you are a qualified First Responder.

Once you have completed the assessments, you will be issued with a Cert II Emergency Medical Service First Response (First Responder) and will be allowed to wear the First Responder epaulette
For members to be issued the HLT21020 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response qualification they must complete the following units:
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid
HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and oxygen therapy
HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care
HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention & control policies & procedures
HLTOUT010 Communicate in complex situations to support health care
CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
HLTWHS006 Manage personal stressors in the work environment
PUAEME005 Provide pain management
